Core State Curation grew from Anita's own experience, navigating cPTSD and ADHD in a world that kept asking her to be more manageable, more consistent, more like everyone else. What she found, through years of her own recovery and thousands of hours of clinical work, was that the existing models were missing something fundamental. They were good at addressing what was broken. They were less good at helping people remember what was always whole.
This work begins there.
Anita is a therapist, supervisor, writer, and researcher with a background spanning narrative therapy, trauma-informed practice, and stepfamily coaching. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (Distinction), and certifications in Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Professional Supervision for Mental Health and Social Service Professionals. She is also a Certified Stepfamily Coach, and is completing a Master of Professional Practice, her thesis on Core State Curation submitted and awaiting presentation.
She has spent time in the stepfamily trenches herself. It is one of many places she has learned what it feels like to lose yourself in a role that has no map.
Her work begins where most approaches stop. Not with what needs fixing, but with what was always there, waiting to be curated.
